Our Story

Did you know that Seaside Shoppes was founded in 2009 and used to be known as Cottage by the Sea Seaside Shoppes II?

That's right, this wonderful coastal beach shop just feet from the ocean of South Jax Beach used to be owned by Joy and was passed with care to Regina Forsyth-Torbin, the owner since 2020.

Seaside Shoppes has been providing unique and creative gifts for nearly 15 years. We are passionate about helping our customers find the perfect gift for any occasion. We especially love creating art for small beach cottages and cozy spaces, and items that you can take back with you if you are visiting from out of town. There's truly something for everyone.

Owner & Artist

Regina Forsythe-Tobin

As the owner of Seaside Shoppes, I bring a rich heritage of retail expertise passed down through generations. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the retail and wholesale business, I was immersed in the vibrant world of commerce from a young age.

My journey began in the heart of southern Ohio, where my grandfather's pottery store stood as a beacon of community and craftsmanship. In those bustling days of Ohio's pottery legacy, I learned the ins and outs of the trade alongside my family. From unloading trucks to assisting with wholesale orders, every task instilled in me a steadfast work ethic and a passion for the retail experience.

As a youngster, I eagerly embraced entrepreneurial spirit, peddling decorative bottles door-to-door—a venture that may raise eyebrows today, but cemented my commitment to business early on. Under my grandfather's tutelage, I absorbed invaluable lessons on success, witnessing firsthand the dedication required for a family enterprise to thrive.

My retail journey continued beyond the walls of my family's store, with roles at prominent retailers culminating in leadership positions at American Eagle Outfitters. From assistant manager to Regional Loss Prevention Manager, I honed my skills in operations and management, culminating in my role as District Manager.

In 2020, I embarked on a new venture, purchasing Seaside Shoppes. Here, I strive to blend coastal, farmhouse, vintage, hand-crafted and upcycled furniture and gifts, while curating a space where every customer feels welcomed, and inspired... and happily finds gifts and treasures for any occasion.
